"I am a 51-year-old male. My right knee was eroded to the point it was rubbing bone-to-bone, creating years of pain, and I had recently started falling. Dr. Knight suggested a knee replacement to alleviate the pain I had endured for many years. My experience with this procedure was truly rewarding and I would encourage anyone in need of joint replacement to consult their physician and proceed with hope for a better quality of life and mobility. My experience consisted of an informational class of several hours explaining every detail of the procedure with others and a knowledgeable counselor to the point there were no surprises upon completion of my procedure. The counselor was also available by telephone up to and after the procedure if I had any questions. There were demonstrations of medical devices available to make recovery easier for reasonable prices.
I was awakened from surgery with little or no pain in my knee and in fact, I was able to take a walk a few hours afterwards with the aid of a walker and a physical therapist. I was released after two days to go home. I live alone and was assigned in home physical therapy for two weeks with friendly and professional nurses. I was then assigned outpatient physical therapy. By this time, I was walking with a cane. During the third week of rehab, I started mowing the lawn with a push mower. My doctor followed up after one month and then every three months thereafter. It has been five months since my surgery. Instead of driving everywhere, I walk or ride a bike a lot more for the exercise. I am very pleased with my results and have had no negative experiences at all with my procedure. Thank you to the staff of Advanced Orthopedic Specialists and Dr. Patrick Knight for all you have done for me."-- Ron E.
