Dr. Burns has been with Advanced Orthopedic Specialists since 1996. After receiving his bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Dr. Burns went on to complete his doctor of osteopathy at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. While at the same institution, he finished his general internship. From there, Dr. Burns completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Burns served as Captain and General Medical Officer in the United States Army.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Burns enjoys an array of outdoor activities, including fishing, bird watching, bee keeping, and gardening. He also likes traveling, painting, and studying theology.
Dr. Burns is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
